The Honda Civic has been one of Canadians' favorite cars for several decades. It is also one of the few compact cars still successful in a market dominated by SUVs. The little Japanese car has built a solid reputation over the years for both reliability and durability.
It is also a pleasant car to drive and offers a wide and diverse range of options. In fact, what it has been missing since the arrival of the new generation is a hybrid version, and this one is about to hit the dealerships.
Honda has just announced the price range for the 2025 model.
Four Powertrains
First, there is the regular Civic with its small 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque. This engine is available with the LX version, which now serves as the entry-level model starting at $29,520. Then, we move on to the Sport version at $33,416.
The powertrain of the hybrid version is similar, as it uses a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine complemented by two electric motors, totaling a combined output of 200 horsepower and 232 lb-ft of torque. However, the most impressive feature is not just the power but the fuel efficiency, with the Japanese manufacturer announcing an average consumption between 4.8 and 4.9 L/100 km, depending on the chosen version. The Civic Hybrid will be available in two variants: Sport Hybrid and Sport Touring Hybrid, with starting prices of $35,305 and $38,805, respectively.
Unfortunately, there are still details unknown about the 2025 Honda Civic, such as the price range for the hatchback version or the technical improvements made to the high-performance SI version. As for the very sporty Type R, details are also not yet known, but it is expected to rejoin the Honda Civic lineup for 2025.
